I have had the privilege of growing up all over the country, living in various houses, and this has given me a unique perspective on housing design. To pursue this passion, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Portland State University, where I focused on LEED building standards, CAD modeling, Adobe rendering, and furniture design.
After graduation, I started my professional career in Los Angeles, working with the renowned classical designer Mark Haddawy. During this time, I had the opportunity to work on several fascinating projects, including historic restoration, pool restoration, landscape architecture, and custom furniture and fixture fabrication. To further enhance my skills, I then worked on a freelance project with Barbie Palomino, where I flipped a two-story high-end residential building and created technical documents for the new design.
When the pandemic hit, I moved back to Portland, where I joined Frederic Coleman and Matthew Boyes as an assistant to interior designers. We worked on some high-end residential projects, and I played a crucial role in implementing 3D design walkthroughs and renderings using Sketch-Up. However, due to a lack of work, I left the position and joined a Building Envelope Engineering consulting firm. There, I created AutoCAD construction drawings for exterior waterproofing design, using a mix of standard modules provided by the company and custom drawings made by studying the architectural sets.
Through all of these experiences, I have gained valuable insights and learned important lessons that I will bring to any future endeavors. I look forward to continuing to grow in this field and eventually managing entire projects.
